As part of the cooperation between the University of Shizuoka in Japan, and the School of International Business, Hochschule Bremen, Prof. Dr. Mayank Kumar Golpelwar visited Shizuoka between 22nd and 24th January 2024, on the invitation extended by Prof. Dr. Mathias Pfeifer of the University of Shizuoka.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Golpelwar held an interaction & discussions session with the staff and students of the University of Shizuoka on "Challenges of & Strategies for Effective Cross-Cultural Cooperation in German-Japanese Teams". The event was attended by approximately 30 students and staff members, and included a presentation, followed by interactive discussions on the topic.
The background research for the event was carried out by Antony Vincent, Urara Ito, and Yuzlem Viez, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Golpelwar.
Additionally, a presentation about the research done at the School of International Business, using the examples of the projects GlobalReady, All-Set, CONFIDENT, and CIEBSEI was held by Prof. Dr. Golpelwar, with researchers from the University of Shizuoka. This was followed by an intensive discussion about the possibilities of research and practice based collaboration between the two universities and various entities from Bremen and Shizuoka. The discussions focussed on the learning possibilities and capacity building of the academic, social, and industrial organizations from Shizuoka and Bremen, through enhanced project based cooperations.
The Shizuoka research and cooperation team was represented by Prof. Dr. Takefumi Ueno, Prof. Dr. Machiko Sato, Prof. Dr. Chihaya Kokubo, Prof. Dr. Kunio Miyazaki, Prof. Dr. Nishimura Akie, and Prof. Dr. Matthias Pfeifer.
