Engineering and Management of Space Systems
This presentation will give a thorough overview of the ORION ESM made in Bremen powering Humankind’s return to the Moon. The first-ever mission-critical element for a human spaceflight mission is built by a non-US company. The Orion spacecraft completed its first deep-space mission with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean on December 11th 2022. The record-breaking Artemis I mission traveled more than 1.4 million miles on a path around the Moon and returned safely to Earth.
But what are the next giant leaps as we are now Back to the Moon? Developing the lunar economy including GATEWAY, sending the first astronauts to Mars.
This talk will give an insight into the practical aspects of Programme management methods and tools related to the current industrialization phase of development and production.
