Visual perception and agility of robots: bioinspired contributions and perspectives for smart manufacturing

The presentation addresses some contributions in the fields of control and robotics through a fundamental research to understand and adapt bioinspired solutions. The research activities presented concern problems of autonomy, visual perception and agility of robots in unknown environments. We will see how the bioinspired approach is used as a support to (i) develop solutions that are energy-efficient and (ii) consider nature as the basic source of knowledge. 

The proposed solutions are illustrated on aerial robots, mobile robots and industry 4.0-use cases.
