Faculty 4
We offer attractive Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the fields of electrical engineering, applied physics, automation/mechatronics, computer science and media informatics.
The programmes are characterised by their international orientation and are accredited according to recognised guidelines. They are strongly practice-oriented. Many programmes are offered as cooperative training programmes or variants of such. They integrate interesting topics from the diverse research activities pursued by our professors, e.g. in study projects and final theses. This enables our students to acquire subject-specific and methodological competencies as well as interdisciplinary key competencies that will distinguish them in their professional lives and enable them to further their education and to respond to challenging problems with efficient solutions. Students work in teams, wherever possible of international composition.
„For me, HSB is exactly the right choice because I don't just learn theory here, but things that will be useful to me later in my career.“
Hannes Student of Automation/Mechatronics B. Eng.
„What I particularly like about my electrical engineering studies at the Hochschule Bremen is the helpfulness of the lecturers.“
Ahmed Hannachi Student of Electrical Engineering
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at HSB offers an optimised combination of academic training and practical work experience in a company with its cooperative programmes that integrate vocational training in a company with academic studies at HSB. The close interlocking of work experience in practice and studies at the HSB ensures a strong orientation to practice and at the same time scientifically sound education. This is supported institutionally by "theory-practice transfer modules" that serve mutual exchange and are anchored in the curriculum.
Following the practical phases and their supervision, graduates have a variety of in-depth insights into the business processes of the respective practical partner. As a rule, the Bachelor's or Master's thesis is also developed in cooperation with the practice partner under the supervision of the university. It is to be expected that graduates will have considerably less time to familiarise themselves with the partner company when they start their careers.
