IGNITION
The School of Education and Lifelong Learning in SETU Waterford is delighted to announce the 3rd IGNITION Community of Practice online event.
The theme of this event is Generative AI for Inclusive Education and will include a keynote by Professor Mike Sharples as well as panel guests.
Generative AI systems such as ChatGPT are already disrupting education. They can write essays for students, summarise scientific texts, produce lesson plans, engage in conversations, and draft academic papers.
The IGNITION project was launched in May 2022 with the aim of investigating the requirements and conditions of digitalization at universities of applied sciences and gaining practical insights for the development of digital competences in teaching. An international, cross-university and interdisciplinary team of experts from Hanze University of Appleid Sciences, Groningen, Instituto Politecnico Bragança (IPB), Portugal, South East Technological University (SETU) in Waterford, Ireland and Bremen University of Applied Sciences is developing results in six fields of action, which will be tested in practice and made available to the university community by spring 2025. The project is funded by the European Union.
