Lecturing and Classroom Management

The aim of this workshop is to improve individual language skills in order to be able to give lectures confidently in English and communicate more effectively with colleagues and students. The program is specifically designed for university lecturers. The content is taught in a hands-on way and there is the option to book further individual coaching if required.

The workshop sessions take place in person and cover topics such as:

•  Dealing with uncertainties regarding your own language skills
•  Getting to know effective lecture techniques and using them with feedback support
•  Getting to know and actively using frequently used phrases and terms in academic teaching practice
•  Intonation and rhetoric exercises
•  Classroom management (dealing with conflicts, clear communication, etc.)

Objective

After attending the workshop, participants are expected to be able to

•  implement the methods and techniques they have learned in a short presentation
•  react appropriately to challenges in different teaching situations
