Students of the International Graduate Centre represent the Bremen University of Applied Sciences at the 2nd Blended Intensive Program on “Intercultural Learning, Communication, and Collaboration in the Digital Age” in Iasi, Romania.
From November 11 to 15, Shruti Totla, Kushagradhi Mukherjee, Krishnadeepthi Chozhan Satheesh, Harish Kumar, Cijesh John and Nikhil Gajendra from Bremen University of Applied Sciences participated in the 2nd Blended Intensive Program on “Intercultural Learning, Communication, and Collaboration in the Digital Age”. Over 20 other students represented the following universities at the event: the Universidad de Granada in Spain, the Escola de Tecnologias Aplicadas, Iscte-Sintra - Lisboa in Portugal, the University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu in Croatia and the host Alexandru Ioan Cuza University. Participants took part in various experimental and academic activities to learn together the basics and applications of intercultural communication and digital collaboration through a variety of participatory methods. Together with the virtual learning phases before and also after the physical sessions in Iasi, the program aimed to improve the global, intercultural, interpersonal and digital skills of the young participants.
Hochschule Bremen also took part in the first BIP in 2023 and, together with Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Finland and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Romania, was a central component of the EU-funded CONFIDENT project, which developed the theoretical and technical foundations for the BIPs. The CONFIDENT project was launched as part of the European Engaged University Consortium, the forerunner of the Stars EU Alliance with 9 European universities, of which Hochschule Bremen is now a member.
Professors Jutta Berninghausen and Mayank Golpelwar formed the scientific part of the HSB team. Ilka Knippel and Nikolai Sokolowsky from the International Office and Claudia Kuhlmann from ZIP in Faculty 1 took care of the administrative aspects of the BIP.
