From 25-26 February 2025, the I_PaCE team visited the School of Technology and Management (ESTiG) at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) in Portugal, which is a partner in the I_PaCE project and a member of the STARS EU Alliance.
The aim of the third working meeting was to further develop the double-degree programme in the Master's degree course in Civil Engineering - Sustainable Design and Construction, as well as to plan a challenge-based learning (CBL) module for the summer semester 2025 for students from the IPB, HSB and Cracow University of Technology (CUT).
During the visit, Prof Rauscher took part in lectures by Portuguese students, presented the I_PaCE project and encouraged them to take part in the CBL in Bremen. During a mobility week, students are presented with practical challenges from the companies INROS Lackner and Goldbeck, which they then work on in mixed international teams.
Prof. Rauscher and his team also discussed the details and variants of the implementation of the planned double degree programme with Prof. Luís Pais (Vice-Rector), Prof. Nuno Ribeiro (Dean of ESTIG) and Prof. Paulo Piloto. Plans were also made with Prof. Vaz for a further joint course ‘GDP-Building-Information Modelling’, in which four partners from the STARS EU Alliance will participate.
