The new book by Prof. Dr. Vera de Hesselle, Bremen University of Applied Sciences and Prof. Dr. Gerrit Frotscher from the University of Hamburg (Eds) has just been published and has already received a great deal of positive feedback from experts. It is the report of an international German-Brazilian working group that compares German tax law with Brazilian tax law. Around 80 experts from academia, tax consultancy and the judiciary worked out similarities and differences in corporate tax law between the two countries. Brazil is an important trading partner for the German economy, but as there is no double taxation agreement, the risk of double taxation is particularly high.
The comparison can show alternatives for tax regulations and at the same time provide tax consultants and the exporting industry with a guide for dealing with cross-border tax problems.
