Researchers from the nine universities in the European STARS EU alliance can apply for third-party funded start-up financing for the development of joint research and innovation projects. The money comes from EU funds from the "Erasmus+" funding line. The "STARS EU Seed Funding Grant" is an Alliance pilot project that will run until March 2025. The call for proposals will be continued following an evaluation.
The funding comprises up to 3,000 euros for each project partner. The planned project must have a clear link to the STARS-EU strategy and the priority areas and involve at least three alliance partners. The funds can be used for various purposes in connection with the launch of a project.
For several years, Hochschule Bremen (HSB) – City University of Applied Sciences has been working with eight international universities to create a joint European University. The Strategic Alliance for Regional Transition European University network - STARS EU for short - contributes to a sustainable transformation of the respective regions and thus of Europe through strategic networking and systematically interlinked cooperation formats in teaching, research and transfer. The European Union has been funding the STARS EU alliance since November 2023 as part of the "Erasmus+ / European University" funding line.
