A series of events for students in their first semester with a chronic illness and/or disability and for interested students from higher semesters.
All beginnings can be difficult - we would like to support you at the start of your studies so that at least the first hurdles are easier to overcome.
Our most important message is: You are not alone! According to the 22nd Social Survey (2023) of the German National Association for Student Affairs - DSW, 16% of students have one or more health impairments that make studying difficult - and the trend is rising.
We would like to provide you with some important information and helpful tips, especially at the beginning of your studies. These include, for example, the regulations on academic adjustments* in coursework and examinations, an overview of counselling services at the HSB and how to exchange information with other students.
* Students with a disability or chronic illness, no matter if physical or mental, are often directly disadvantaged during their studies. Academic adjustments intend to counterbalance those disadvantages.
