An acute illness can have an impact on your studies. For example, you may not be able to take an exam or have to cancel it due to the illness or the illness may occur during the time you are working on a term paper or thesis.
If you have a chronic illness, please find out whether you are eligible for compensation for disadvantages and make an appointment at the Inclusive Studying Advice Centre.
Withdrawal from examinations that are to be taken during the course (e.g. term papers, presentations) is only possible until the assignment is issued. You can withdraw from oral examinations up to two weeks before the examination date at the latest. You must declare your withdrawal in writing.
In the case of written examinations, you are deemed to have withdrawn if you do not appear on the examination date. If you withdraw from the first examination date or fail an examination, you remain registered for a subsequent second examination date (repeat examination in accordance with Section 14 (4) AT BPO and AT MPO). If you also fail to take part in the retake examination, you are deemed to have withdrawn. In this case, you must re-register for the module.
If you have not successfully completed the module examination after the first and second examination dates, you must re-register for the module in the following semester in order to be able to take the examination.
