Strategische Ausrichtung von Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften in Studium, Lehre und Weiterbildung – Entwicklungen und Governanceansätze im internationalen Vergleich (SLW@HAW)

We aim to encourage an open dialogue on research about developments of HEI in the field of teaching and learning and welcome contributions from various perspectives. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

1. Internationalisation
2. Flexibility
3. Digitalisation
4. Lifelong learning

Analyses can be submitted at the levels of educational policy developments (macro level), organization (meso level) as well as study courses and programs (micro level).

Educational policy developments Which educational policy strategies currently have the strongest impact on developments in higher education teaching and learning? How do national and international policy frameworks influence the design of teaching and learning processes in higher education?

Organisational development and profile development: What measures are being implemented to sharpen institutional profiles? How is strategic differentiation achieved? What is the importance of lifelong learning/continuing education in the strategic positioning?

Program Development and Curriculum Design: How do universities design new courses and/or degree programmes that meet both institutional and societal needs? How do they address employer needs? Which formats are prioritized?

• Lecture (30 min + Discussion): Engaging expert talks on current trends and innovations in university and profile development.

• Workshops & Working Groups (90 min): Interactive sessions for in-depth discussions and collaborative development of solutions on key topics in university development.

• Paper Presentation (20 min): Concise presentations of academic research or best practices, followed by an interactive discussion.

• Interactive Discussion Round (60 min): Dynamic, participatory formats with rotating discussion groups to encourage intensive collegial exchange.

We invite submissions of abstracts (max. 500 words) by May 18, 2025.
